To the Cadence drum and bugle corps,
I saw a color guard that was young, eager, and talented.
I saw a drum line that would move farther on every set just because I asked
them to.
I saw a hornline march with great quality.
I heard a hornline create music that was expressive, emotional, and exciting.
I saw a drum major lead the corps with a brilliant flare.
I saw a staff willing to step aside and trust me.
I saw a corps director, Dave Champion, beaming with pride.
And then it happened! Magic appeared in front of my own eyes. The Cadence organization was creating something that would last far longer then DCUK Finals. They were developing a sense of TEAM!
It seemed as if the rain was fertilizing the entire group. With every raindrop, the corps worked harder and harder. You all have earned the right and privilege to be called CHAMPIONS!
Thank You for allowing me to participate in the 1999 Cadence drum and bugle corps memory. Congratulations to all of you.
